So what happens if you delete a character AFTER the title has been changed? I guess the points will stay but you never know for sure with Anet.

yeh but after the update once youve logged in then all characters will have the combined title. so if you delete one then it will won't make any difference because they all have the same title.

Won't happen, Linsey was clear that if any title would be converted to account wide, it would only be these two. The grind required in these two titles is much greater than other character based titles.

Yup.
The festival titles are merely gold sinks.
It would make much more sense to just add Fireworks to some Merchants.
They are relatively easy to max, with the only exception of Drunkard, which is still annoying to do with no way to check your level of drunkenness without scrolling trough countless titles every tme you want to check the minutes, or keeping the Hero panel open... or even worse: using an stopwatch or something like that.
A gold sink title is no good if it's so annoying that people would go for it only in one character... or even in none.

I agree to adding fireworks to merchants, or maybe something similar to the squash serum that gives you a glowy hat for a few seconds.
The only problem is Drunkard, the other two are fine, but we need purchasable party points.

I think this is a fairly cool idea. All those odd accidental id's on my other characters might add up....
Although I think this will be a great update, my friend doesn't seem to think so. He has r1 treasure hunter in pre-searing atm. This update means basically everyone in pre-searing can easily have treasure hunter and the like. (He got treasure hunter in pre-searing by farming at Easter time. picking up golden eggs gave +1 to treasure hunter). Again, I am saying this on behalf of a friend (he does not use Guru), so do not flame me for saying this (I'm talking about all of you 'OMG STOP TRYING TO BRAG ABOUT UR TITLEZZZ!!' sort of people)
Thx.

One should get the titles just by playing NORMALLY on any character on his/her account. Doing things just to get the title on ONE particular character is just stupid.
I support more titles to be account based.

This is why I say that Drunkard, Sweet Tooth, and Party Animal should be account based AND get a third (maybe fouth) rank. Exception of Drunkard, they are easy to max. But I don't see the point of putting those titles on multiple characters with them being simply "gold sinks" as armor and weapons (specifically Destroyer and Tormented for now) are plenty for gold sinks for many people.

Wow... thats.... something eh?
Maybe if you joined the large part of the community who apparently love those ridiculous bandanas, ninja masks and etc, maybe you wouldnt have to look at his/her hair anymore. But then you would be facing a large problem wich is looking ridiculous with a ninja mask, wich would obviously be dyed black because people think that black is the only color in the game! Hurray!
Problem solved, next!

Then alot of people would lose max titles they already earned, another thing I doubt they are willing to do.
Of course it was done once b4 with the sunspear titles, but the people who got the original max (r8), used the monster rezing exploit.

to be fair, the original r8 ss and lb title cap was not a cap at all. at r8 on these titles, you were unable to get blessings to earn more points to complete the titles, those titles never counted as completed and it took over 6 months for the fixes for these titles, which was included with Hard Mode.
Considering this, taking away someones completed title has never happened before and should never happen for the sake of the integrity of the Guild Wars product. People who are in it for the titles already face a huge enough hurdle with the 160k points required for the Norn, Asura and Ebon rep titles (Dwarf has the Snowman Cave, making it acheivable).
We dont need to re-earn the titles we've already earned and I am exceptionally grateful to see aNet agreeing with that premise! Thank you.
